Learning Support Assistants (LSA)

Our Learning Support Assistants: dedicated partners in every child’s growth

At the Canadian International School of Thailand (CIST), our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) play an essential role in creating nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environments from PreK2 through to Grade 3. Working closely with classroom teachers, our LSAs bring compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication to supporting the success and well-being of our youngest learners.

Our LSAs (who speak Thai and English) understand that every child learns differently, and they respond with patience, flexibility, and encouragement. They provide targeted support during whole-class lessons, small-group activities, and individualised learning moments, helping students develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging in the classroom.

Beyond academic support, our LSAs are attentive to the social and emotional needs of each child. They help students navigate friendships, build resilience, develop self-regulation skills, and feel secure in their learning environment. Their calm presence and gentle guidance contribute to classrooms where every student feels seen, valued, and understood.

Our LSAs work as true partners in learning by collaborating closely with homeroom teachers to adapt activities, reinforce key skills, and ensure that each child is supported according to their unique strengths and needs. Through this shared approach, students benefit from consistent care, meaningful connections, and purposeful learning experiences.

At CIST, we believe that a strong support team enriches the entire school community. Our Learning Support Assistants help lay the foundation for confident, curious, and capable learners, ensuring that every child receives the attention and encouragement they need to thrive.
