EAL Intensive Programme
English as an Additional Language (EAL) Intensives
At CIST, we are proud to support the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our students. Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) Intensives from Kindergarten to G5 are designed to ensure that all learners have the confidence, skills, and academic language needed to fully access the curriculum and thrive within our international learning environment.
A targeted and supportive approach
EAL Intensives are provided for students who require additional support in developing their written, verbal, and reading literacy in English. These sessions are carefully structured and delivered by experienced educators who specialise in language development, ensuring learning is purposeful, engaging, and responsive to each student’s needs.
- Through small-group or individualised instruction, students are supported to:
- Strengthen reading comprehension and vocabulary
- Develop clear and confident written expression
- Improve spoken English for classroom participation and social interaction
- Build academic language skills aligned with classroom learning
- Seamless Integration with Classroom Learning
Our EAL Intensives work alongside the classroom programme, allowing students to apply new language skills directly within their daily learning. This integrated approach supports both academic progress and social confidence, helping students feel included, capable, and ready to participate fully in school life.
No additional cost to families
In keeping with CIST’s commitment to inclusive and equitable education, EAL Intensive support is provided at no additional charge to families. This reflects our belief that language development is a foundational part of learning and that every student deserves access to the support they need to succeed.
A commitment to every learner
At CIST, we value the unique strengths and experiences each student brings to our community. Our EAL Intensives demonstrate our ongoing commitment to nurturing confident communicators, capable learners, and globally minded students, ensuring every child is supported on their learning journey.
